Day Eight - 5/14/2006 Cincinnati
We made it to our final city, Cincinnati – the namesake of Nate’s little league team. We have a one o’clock start, so it is straight to the ballpark. The Reds were my favorite team growing up so this place already feels comfortable. The stadium pays it’s respects to the past as well as incorporating elements of the river front.
A call to Sugerburger.
Hey, who’s that in the middle.
Is he related to Jack?
The best game was saved for last. Howard provided all the Phillies’ offence, hitting two solo homers as the Phillies edged the Reds in 12 innings. Griffey had a chance to be the hero with two outs and one on in the bottom of the 12th. He hit a screemer but right at Howard at first.
Rob flew out right after the game while Nate and I flew the next morning. As you see, the road has taken its toll
